Configure Port Range Forwarding

Incoming calls to your Asterisk server from other app_rpt nodes arrive using the IAX2 protocol. This protocol uses port 4569 by default but may be changed to some other port on your server if, for example, you share an Internet connection and its IP address among several Asterisk servers on your LAN.

Here are the Port Range Forwarding settings for the Linksys WRT54GL based NAT/Gateway of a typical Amateur Radio station as viewed using the WRT's web based configuration utility.

The NAT LAN subnet is 10.25.163.0 and it has a master server (.220), an Asterisk server (.210) and an IRLP server (.221) with the ports from the Internet WAN routed appropriately.
