XIPPR Radio Over IP Server Software - Free Community Edition

These instructions apply to the version released May 19, 2010.

Xelatec provides this XIPPR Radio Over IP software. This package is a network install. That means that an image file is downloaded and written to a CDROM or USB Flash drive and used to boot the computer. When the computer boots the installation will proceed automatically with a few prompts for options along the way. The installation process loads the operating system and all of the Voice Over IP and Radio Over IP applications onto the computer hard drive.

First, please read these instructions. Then, download this image file and use it to create a bootable CDROM or USB Flash drive.

Connect your computer to your network which must provide the computer with a local IP address and Internet access via DHCP.

Attach your USB radio interface. A USB radio interface must be present for the installation to work properly. However it does not have to be connected to a radio. If you need a USB radio interface you can purchase one using the Xelatec On-Line Ordering Catalog.

Set your computer BIOS to boot to the CDROM or USB Flash drive first and then the hard drive. Insert the CDROM or attach the USB Flash drive and restart the computer. When the boot message appears, wait a few seconds and the installation will continue automatically.

Then follow the instructions and prompts. The Operating System installation will ask to reboot after about an hour. Take the CDROM out of the drive at this time. Then after rebooting, the installation will continue and take another hour. The times given are approximations and depend on your Internet connection and processor speeds.

REMEMBER ALL DATA ON THE COMPUTER WILL BE ERASED AND REPLACED WITH THIS NEW INSTALLATION.
